It’s easy to pull backwards to go over a spot if a grass blade or weed stem remains. The metal blade is extremely durable and will last for years unless you try to route your driveway with it. Trimming them is a challenge that the B&D edger handles quite well. Some escape the first slice, but backing over them usually wins the battle. I found that on bigger projects, you could literally pull up the grass without much problem after using a shovel to ease up the sod. It sure beat trying to attempt the process with just a shovel or manual grass edger. When you consider the initial cost of the unit, plus a $6 blade each time you use it, the costs mount up pretty quick. They would never give me a straight answer, and I finally gave up.
